What is Dumb & Dumber About

The story follows Lloyd Christmas (played by Jim Carrey) and Harry Dunne (played by Jeff Daniels). They are two good-natured but dimwitted friends that travel across the country to return a briefcase full of money. You might wonder why someone would want to return a briefcase full of cash instead of keeping it. Well, I will tell you why. One of the boys is a limo driver. He becomes smitten with his female passenger and will do anything to gain her love and admiration.

While at the airport, he sees her leave her briefcase on the ground and then rushes in to retrieve it and return it to her. Not knowing she left it for ransom for her kidnapped husband, Lloyd grabs the case and chases after her, but he’s too late. The plane is in the air and he is on the ground holding the briefcase. He talks his best buddy into returning the briefcase with him, but they will have to travel across the country to get it to the woman he has just fallen in love with.
